Mailing Lists
Are you selling to businesses or people? Your best bet is to mail to those that have already purchased from you. They know that you've got a good product or service and may need 'more' of what you sell. Remind them by mailing to them monthly. However, if it's new clients you want, you must identify your audience. Is it regular people who may have certain interests or fall in to a particular age group etc. that you need to target? Or do you sell to businesses of a particular size, years in business etc? Consumer Lists What kind of consumer do you sell to? Narrow this down and get your targeted mailing list. (For example, Men aged 50-65 who make an annual salary of $120,000 or more and own their own home.) Do they live in a certain area? A good way to figure this out, if you're not positive, is to go through your invoices. Find your best customers and then survey them to find out all about them? How old are they? Where do they live? What is their annual income? Do they own their own home or do they rent? You may want to survey as many as 100 of your customers in order to see the most common denominators. For instance you may find that their incomes vary but they all fall between ages 25 and 45 or that they're all married or most are married. Get the picture? Let's find out exactly to whom you're already selling and then we'll find you a targeted mailing list of similar prospects to promote to! Businesses What type of business do you sell to? Startup businesses? Businesses grossing $25 million annually. Or is it a particular SIC code (SIC stands for Standard Industry Classification; all businesses are assigned a universal code that identifies exactly what they do). You may only sell to restaurants. We can get you a targeted mailing list of restaurants in a particular area and we can even narrow it down further. What precisely do most of your customer's manufacture? Bedding? Air planes? Jewelry? We suggest that you go through your invoices, find your best customers and then survey them to find out all about them. How large of a company are they? How many employees do they have?
